In 2023, Render Network upgraded from the Ethereum ecosystem to Solana. As part of that upgrade journey, today the Render Network Foundation is deprecating RNDR on Polygon Network and has released a direct bridge, at polygon.rendernetwork.com, for holders of RNDR on Polygon to upgrade to Solana-based RENDER tokens on a 1:1 basis. To determine eligibility, the Render Network Foundation recorded a snapshot of token holdings on the Polygon Network at block number 73443862. Only wallets that held RNDR on Polygon at that specific point in time are eligible to use the bridge. This direct bridge from Polygon to Solana will eliminate what is otherwise a 2-step process today, and will significantly reduce the cost of these holders upgrading to RENDER.

As a result we recommend that all token holders of RNDR on Polygon cease any and all trading of these legacy tokens and use the bridge to upgrade them to Solana-based RENDER tokens.

This move was accelerated by a recent event where we identified the unauthorized access of an inactive wallet connected to one of our legacy Polygon RNDR contracts.

This had the potential to impact up to ~1.4M RNDR tokens still held on Polygon, representing less than 0.3% of circulating supply. No funds, however, were lost.

If you hold Ethereum-based RNDR or Solana-based RENDER tokens, this incident has no impact on those tokens and no action is required.

Working with the Polygon Council, as well as an external third-party auditor, we mitigated the risk to legacy Polygon tokens by deprecating the bridge between RNDR on Polygon and Ethereum Mainnet.

These mitigation efforts were completed securely thanks to diligent work and coordination between the Render Network Foundation, Render Network partners, the Polygon team, and an external third party security and auditing firm.

If you are a tokenholder of RNDR token on Polygon Network and have questions about this upgrade, reach out to support@renderfoundation.com for support. Always confirm information from official Render Network channels before connecting your wallet or approving transactions.
